Farm Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces younger students to the fun and excitement of learning where our food comes from. Come explore a variety of farm activities in Trout Lake, WA. Play in the gardens. Tour a local organic dairy. Learn about animal care. Feed the chickens and cook a meal with farm fresh eggs. Parents are also welcome to join in on these amazing hands-on activities.
Day camps for ages 6-9 will be held Monday through Thursday from 9am to 11:45 am each day. There will be optional transportation from Hood River, OR or White Salmon, WA for an additional fee.

Instructor Bio: Broadfork Farm is a small-scale diverse farm and homestead in the Trout Lake valley, owned and farmed by the Jones-Hyde family. Kaye and Adam have their Masters of Science in Holistic Science with distinction from Schumacher College in the UK. Together they bring a breadth of perspective and experience in sustainability and ecological thinking to their rural life as farmers in the gorge. Adam is a 4th generation family farmer, and strategy consultant, whose areas of expertise are sustainability innovation, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, energy efficiency and appropriate technology, as well as compost and organics recycling. In addition to tending the farm and kids, professionally Kaye has spent a decade using her ecological design lens in the application of farmland acquisition conservation, and place-based education. Youth will experience farm life firsthand with Kaye and Adam during this awesome hands-on day camp.
