Nature Art Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces students to the fun and excitement of learning how to create works of art out of natural objects. The camp will occur at a local Trout Lake art studio and outside in natural settings around the Trout Lake Valley. Students will engage in a variety of projects such as painting, paper making, dyeing, collaging and other crafts. Parents are also welcome to join in on these fun, take home activities.
Day camps for ages 9-12 will be held Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 4pm each day. There will be optional transportation from Hood River, OR or White Salmon, WA for an additional fee.

Instructor Bio: Painting and drawing have been Ardis DeFreece’ passion for over 30 years. She loves to see what she can re-interpret from life through her art and is still surprised to see what she and others create. She considers that one of the greatest joys of making art, the knowledge that you just never know how the piece will turn out, but you know you will experience something amazing along the way. Ardis finds the Pacific Northwest a wonderful place to be an artist, never lacking in inspiration with its natural beauty, interesting people, diverse cultures, and innovative ideas. Whether she is creating art of her own or helping a student, Ardis loves being surrounded by art and the making of it. She has seen amazing things happen in her own life and the lives of others through art and believes experiencing art first-hand benefits us all. This summer she will be guiding youth 6-12 in creating their own amazing art at the Cascade Mountain School Nature Art Day Camp.
